ATOC’s Fleet Reliability Focus Group (Refocus) is interested in LeanRCM
When it comes to sharing best-practice an unlikely partner can provide remarkable insights and demonstrate a surprising number of transferable benefits. This was the consensus at the end of recent visit by Association of Train Operating Companies’ representatives to a Welsh Water Treatment site in the Brecon Beacons, where EMS Cognito has recently facilitated an Operations Improvement Programme.
Stuart Draper, Engineering Director at Northern Rail, and Chair of ATOC Refocus, explained that the aim of their visit was to encourage the adoption of best-practice and to take an objective look at cross-industry issues. He said: ” Our main interest is transferable practices and resulting benefits. The number one aim of both water and rail companies is to provide the best possible customer service to the public. Where you have processes in place and a wide range of assets to maintain you already share a lot in common.”
